Great Coaching Start to the New Year
HTTC's Monday and Tuesday coaching programmes got off to a great start to 2012. Around 30 beginner juniors got into the swing of ping representing an increase on last term's numbers. Martin Jezisek also enjoyed busy intermediate and advanced/adult sessions and it appears the club is bouncing back after its close season coaching re-organisation.
Xmas Closedown
Horsham TTC members and guests are advised that the Friday club night will not be running on 23rd and 30th December. First session back will be Friday 6th January.
Club coaching midweek programmes will commence on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th of January.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!
Mixed Fortunes for Horsham Schools in TT Play-Offs
Tanbridge and Forest schools enjoyed contrasting fortunes in the West Sussex Schools Team Table Tennis Championships at Sackville School in East Grinstead last night. Tanbridge's U13's boys team cruised into the zone final stages of the English Schools structure but Forest U16 boys suffered a mauling and will not be taking the next step.
The Tanbridge lads - Sam Dallas, Luke Baldwin, Chris Purdy - despatched their Sackville counterparts without losing any of their eight matches. Only Forest's Matt Van Yperen however was able to save Forest from a similar fate to Sackville's senior boys. He beat Max Hill 3-2 to gain their sole victory on the night. In his other match he lost 3-2 to Sackville No 1 Harry Collins.
Next week Millais Girls U16 will do their best to go forward to the zone stage when they take on Mid Sussex winners Warden Park.
